The company was formed in 1987 in Houston, Texas, with the purpose of specializing in the production of quality sports collectible shows.  Over the past twenty years, president Jeffrey R. Rosenberg has led the company to the leading edge of the industry.  TRISTAR's prestigious reputation is illustrated by being named "Show Promoter of the Year" by the industry trade association every year the award has been presented since 1993. 

As a leader in the production of sporting events, TRISTAR acted as the exclusive local sponsorships/exhibit sales and advertising/promotions team for World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania X-SEVEN and AXXESS: The Fan Festival in Houston in 2001.  TRISTAR also produced the 16^th & 18^th National Sports Collector Conventions and the International Hockey League All-Star Ice Fest.  Currently, the company is producing sports collectible events nationwide in more than 12 different markets.

TRISTAR serves as the exclusive autograph agent for a number of notable athletes, including seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, two-sport star Bo Jackson, 2006 World Series MVP David Eckstein, and Super Bowl MVPs Kurt Warner and Bart Starr, in handling all of their public and private signings.  The TRISTAR signing roster is a virtual who's-who in the world of sports.

With more than 300 signings annually with the top sports superstars of yesterday and the brightest stars of today, over 250,000 authentic autographed items are produced annually at TRISTAR signings.  TRISTAR's product lines have expanded to include quality protective display cases and sports/entertainment memorabilia collectibles.

When dealing in collectibles, especially in the area of autographed collectibles, authenticity of the product is the central component.  As such, TRISTAR has taken an active role in the forefront of the industry by establishing its own state-of-the-art authentication system, and TRISTAR is an inaugural member and official licensee of the Major League Baseball Autograph Authentication Program, helping to ensure that the memorabilia delivered to fans is guaranteed authentic.    

Combining the anticipation of opening a pack of trading cards to find your favorite player with the excitement of collecting sports memorabilia, TRISTAR created the HIDDEN TREASURES sports collectibles product line.  Each package of HIDDEN TREASURES is guaranteed to contain a Hidden Treasure, with the chance to locate a Grand Treasure.  HIDDEN TREASURES products include Autographed Baseballs, Autographed Photos (Baseball & Football), Autographed Football Mini Helmets, Graded Cards (Baseball & Football) and more.

TRISTAR signed a multi-year exclusive licensing agreement with Major League Baseball Properties making TRISTAR the only trading card manufacturer licensed by MLBP to produce nationally-distributed trading cards of top draft picks and prospects within Minor League Baseball.  This agreement designates TRISTAR with the exclusive rights to produce the first professional base set cards of amateur players selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft.  The "Pro Debut" logo on cards identifies a player's first professional baseball trading card with his first MiLB team.
